What is BodyTalk?
BodyTalk is an innovative and comprehensive health care model. BodyTalk works on the principle that the body is intelligent and capable of healing, as long as the body’s internal communication system is intact. If the body’s internal communication system is compromised by stress, the body is pulled out of balance and becomes symptomatic or develops “dis-ease”. Stress can be caused by many factors, such as: a physical injury, a microbial infection, an environmental toxin or allergen or an emotional conflict with a family member, coworker or friend.
BodyTalk Practitioners use a subtle form of biofeedback to determine the areas of stress or miscommunication in a client. The Practitioner focuses his or her attention on the client's priority needs for that day and time. Each client is unique and therefore healing happens in a specific sequence of events. For example: A client may come in with a sprained ankle but, the practitioner determines through biofeedback that the client's body first needs to rebalance his kidney energy. Or there may be a belief related to "lack of support" that the client needs balanced first before focusing on the ankle. The most important consideration in the healing process using BodyTalk is the sequence in which the body heals.

What does a BodyTalk Session look like?
My BodyTalk sessions begin with review of the "Health and Well Being History Form" filled out by the client before the first visit. The client should wear comfortable clothes to the visit. We will discuss goals of treatment and do a brief physical assessment to determine areas of tension and restriction or hyper-mobility and flexibility.
After the assessment is complete, the client will lay on a massage table, face up and fully clothed (shoes off) for the biofeedback portion. The BodyTalk practitioner follows a detailed protocol chart in order to determine the priority issues that needs balancing.
Treatment consists of gentle tapping of the head and heart along with deep breathing to facilitate an energy shift and restoration of health. BodyTalk sessions often include Reiki within the healing session.
Follow up appointments are determined at the end of each visit.

Testimonials for BodyTalk with Susan

"BodyTalk helped me realize I was carrying quite a burden of ongoing/long-time worry about certain issues. Susan helped release this burden and allowed me to move on with a lighter heart!
--One of the benefits that totally surprised me was the elimination of post surgery inflammation due to a total knee replacement. For almost a year since surgery I had felt noticeable ongoing heat when I touched that knee. After one treatment the heat had dissipated almost completely and has not returned. Remarkable!!!!"
Sara L.
"My body is always talking, but I don't always listen. BodyTalk helps me slow down enough to work with myself in a kind, gentle, compassionate way. Susan brings a breadth of experience to her BodyTalk practice. More importantly, she is compassionately tuned into the rhythms of my body/mind system. Her comments and suggestions are always supportive, meaningful and healing-oriented."
